Shooting Leaves Six People Wounded

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's 77th detectives are seeking information from the public regarding a shooting which resulted in six people being shot.

On September 25, 2024, at approximately 3:12 p.m., officers from the 77th Street Division responded to an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon shooting" radio call at the intersection of 74th Street and Figueroa Street.

Upon arrival, officers located six victims who had sustained gunshot wounds, primarily to their lower extremities. The victims are tentatively identified as follows:

• #1 Female/Black, 54 years, no further description
• #2 Female/Black, 51 years, no further description
• #3 Female/Black, 62 years, no further description
• #4 Female/Black, 40 years, no further description
• #5 Female/Black, no further description
• #6 Male/Black, 36 years, no further description

All six victims were on foot when three male suspects (no further description) approached in a vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking them. The victims were transported to local hospitals by the Los Angeles Fire Department and are all listed in stable condition.

The suspects fled the scene in the vehicle. It remains unclear if the incident was gang-related. At this early stage of the investigation, detectives do not believe any of the six individuals were the intended targets. Additionally, while the incident occurred near a homeless encampment, investigators do not believe the motive was related to homelessness.
