Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing - Broadway and Falcon Avenue: On July 1, 2024 at approximately 1:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Broadway and Falcon Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injuries.. The Preliminary investigation indicates the male adult victim was in the area when an unknown male adult suspect approached the victim and stabbed him. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. No other injuries were reported. The motive for the stabbing is unknown and the investigation is on-going.

Great work officers! Yesterday, officers safely took four guns off the streets.
  • On June 30, 2024 at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 20th Street and Golden Avenue. During their investigation, officers discovered a passenger was in possession of two loaded firearms. The suspect was arrested, and officers the recovered two firearms. The investigation is ongoing

  • On June 30, 2024 at approximately 10:09 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Olive Avenue regarding a dispute call. During their investigation, officers discovered two male adult suspects who were in possession of a firearm. The suspects were arrested, and officers safely recovered the firearms. The investigation is ongoing.
