Notable Trends

  • Officers arrested suspects in two of the three aggravated assaults reported this week. In one, a juvenile threw a large kitchen knife at his parent. In another arrest, the suspect strangled, punched and stomped on the victim. In the last case, charges were referred to the prosecutor after the suspect pepper sprayed the victim during an argument.
  • One rape reported that is still an open investigation. The victim knew the suspect.
  • Officers arrested suspects in the three robberies reported. In one arrest, the suspect demanded the victim's property and said he had a gun, which was found during the arrest. The victim's property was recovered. Two juveniles were arrested in another robbery after trying to steal five hooded sweatshirts they'd arranged online to buy from the victim. They pushed the victim to steal the clothing and then pointed a gun at him when he was chasing them. In the last arrest, the suspect stole the victim's headlamp, then punched him multiple times and had his dog attack him when the victim tried to get it back.
  • Two residential burglaries reported with an arrest in one. The suspect broke a gate and forced entry through a door in one case. It was unknown if anything was missing at the time of the report. In the other case, a neighbor, who knows the victims, saw the suspect enter their house. He yelled for him to come out and called the cops. The suspect left and the witness kept eyes on him until officers arrived and arrested him.
  • Five vehicle prowls reported this week. Multiple purses, backpacks and electronics were stolen. Remember to remove valuables from your vehicles, suspects are willing to break windows or force entry for valuable property.
