The hard work building and painting the Robinson Elevated Storage Tank (EST) caught the attention of the Tnemec Company, which holds an annual "Tank of the Year" competition.

The eye-catching landmark is located just east of State Highway 161 near W. Marshall Drive and Robinson Road. The artwork highlights Lone Star Park, Grand Prairie lakes and EpicCentral.

Artist Eric Henn completed the three massive hand-painted murals in August.

"There's more attention to these water towers," Henn told Grand Prairie Television in August. "They become a landmark and people identify areas with the water tower.

"Just the water tower on its own is amazing," said Noreen Housewright director of Engineering and Utility Services for the City of Grand Prairie. "We built something that's going to support our current residents as well as future residents and the growth of the city. It was also a lot of fun working with the art and just something creative. For years to come, we can look at and have pride that we're a part of."
