After President Joe Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the U.S. Presidential race, Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen issued the following statement:

"President Biden was the right president at the right time, and we cannot overstate the impact of his historic presidency. His transformative leadership catalyzed an oftentimes gridlocked Congress to take decisive climate action, and his administration has enacted hundreds of environmental protections that will save lives, protect biodiversity, and safeguard our air, water, and planet for future generations. In the face of a dangerous conservative capture of our federal judiciary, he appointed and successfully confirmed over 200 diverse, highly-qualified new judges to rebalance our courts.

"These policies aren't just abstract words. They're changing lives. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, our clean energy transition is well under way. Clean energy manufacturing is booming, thousands of new green jobs have been created, and tax rebates are helping families electrify their homes and cars. Under the Biden-Harris administration's influence, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has improved clean air and water standards to protect millions from the dangers of air toxins like soot and contaminants like PFAS, saving thousands of lives each year.
