Appeal following intimidation on train - Sydney CBD

Police are appealing for information to identify a man who may be able to assist with inquiries following an alleged incident on a train in Sydney last month.

About 5pm on Saturday 13 July 2024, a 15-year-old girl was travelling on a train between Town Hall and Liverpool Railway Station when she was allegedly approached by a man.

The girl was allegedly intimidated by the man and reported the interaction to staff at Liverpool Railway Station who contacted police.

Officers attached to Police Transport and Public Safety Command South West Sector commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, police are appealing for information to identify a man who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man is described as of Pacific Islander /Maori appearance, large build, with a mullet style hair cut with bleached tips and was wearing a red baseball cap with white writing, dark blue zip up jacket with a red logo, green cargo pants, khaki leather work boots and carrying a grey/black backpack.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information about the man or the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
