We're making a difference one text message at a time

There's just 34 days left until Election Day, and at the New Jersey State AFL-CIO, the effort to mobilize voters is already well underway, with the help of our CLC presidents and rank and file volunteers. Between now and November 5, the important work of educating our members on what is at stake in this election cannot be understated. In order to preserve our democracy and freedom, the voice of labor must be heard in this election.

Our statewide text bank initiative plays a vital role in encouraging the public to register to vote and learn more about our endorsed labor candidates, and this year our initiative is already off to a strong start with volunteers sending out 300,000 messages since the start of the program last week.

We are thankful for the incredible initiative taken by the Veterans Committee and our Central Labor Councils, who have significantly expanded the impact and reach of our program, by organizing and providing volunteers. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, with each message sent out, the voice of labor is amplified.

To be a part of this initiative, please reach out to your Central Labor Council. You can find the contact information for each labor council at www.njunionstrong.org.

Union members can and will make a difference in this election. With every worksite visit, labor walk, and text message sent, we're one step closer to securing a victory for working families. Are you ready to join us in making this difference?
