Today's the Day! Fall Arts Walk Registration Due at Midnight!

Sign up online by 11:59pm, Monday, July 15 to participate in Fall Arts Walk on October 4 & 5!
Olympia Arts Walk is a community celebration of the arts featuring visual art displays and performances hosted by participating Arts Walk locations throughout the City. The event is a biannual two-day festival presented to the public by local artists and businesses in partnership with the City of Olympia Parks, Arts, and Recreation Department. Its next production takes place October 4 and 5, and we're inviting you to get involved!

Do you Vote Every Year for the Percival Plinth Project?

If so, you may have encountered a warning that looks like this when trying to vote:

That means that you are already set up in the system and just need to log in! Looks for the sign in button, top right:

Once you've signed in, go back to the Plinth Voting page, and you're good to go! Voting extends through July 30. QR codes on each sculpture provide more information and a voting link.

Each year, the Percival Plinth Project hosts a new selection of loaned sculpture by local and regional artists on Percival Landing. A community vote is held and the sculpture with the most votes is added to the City public art collection on display throughout Olympia.

Participating artists include Dan Brown, Aisha Harrison, Eileen Lagasse, William Lenker, Ed McCarthy, uckiood, Robin Momii, Steven Nagode, Kyle Ocean, Nathan Robles, Jennifer Strassel, Karen Sixkiller, Mark Twain Stevenson, Ken Turner and MacRae Wylde.

Olympia Symphony Orchestra Masterclass with Alexandra Arrieche and Michael Sheppard

We are excited to announce a special masterclass led by Olympia Symphony's esteemed Music Director, Alexandra Arrieche, and the renowned pianist & composer, Michael Sheppard. This event is an exceptional opportunity to witness the development of our talented Young Artist Participants-all gifted violinists.

  • Time: 4:30-7:00 pm (Building access at 4:00 pm)
  • Location: The Evergreen State College, Communication Building, Room 110 (COM)

  • Cost: $6.00 per vehicle per day (payment via credit card at the kiosk)

While this masterclass is offered free of charge for our Young Artist Participants, we encourage other attendees to consider a pay-what-you-choose donation to support future masterclasses and the continued growth of our musical community.

Soul Collage Workshop

Come flip through colorful images that tickle your playful, fun-loving self to create SoulCollageĀ® cards to take home and remind you to nurture yourself and revere the trees that surround us. Whether you are new to SoulCollageĀ® or adding cards to your deck, join us to celebrate our tree elders. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring images, scissors, or any supplies if you have them).

Dance to the Music of the Forest
Join our 1st outdoor community dance with friends and family of all ages. Dance to the music of trees singing in real time. A special device, called Plants Play, converts the tree's electric signals into notes; the music will be amplified for dancers and audience alike. FREE and donations welcome and appreciated.

The next tour of the Schmidt House is scheduled for August 6th from 11am-12:30pm.
Join us for a guided tour of one of Tumwater's most iconic homes, the Schmidt House, built in 1904 for Leopold Schmidt, founder of the Olympia Brewing Company and his family. Your Tour Guide will take you through four levels of the house from the basement (which houses our archives) to the top floor. Find yourself immersed in the rich history Tumwater has to offer. Doors will open at 10:45am. Please note: The first floor is ADA accessible, but the rest of the house requires climbing stairs.
