Tarleton State Volleyball releases 2024 promotional schedule

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Texan Volleyball unveiled the 2024 promotional schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The Purple and White will host 11 matches with eight welcoming conference opponents to Wisdom Volleyball Gym. The home opener will take place on Sept. 20 and will mark the first of 10 themed matches this season.

Prior to the beginning of the first match, fans will have the opportunity to see the 2024 Tarleton State Volleyball team in action on Aug. 19 at the annual Block Party celebration. Fans in attendance will receive sound activated light up bracelets and LED sticks. The celebration will begin immediately following Yell Contest, tentatively 10 p.m. Team and coaching staff introductions will kickstart the fun. Select fans will have the opportunity to participate in games for prizes and live team scrimmage will follow to conclude the evening.

The Texans will host Alcorn State for the opening match of the Tarleton State Invitational. The 10 a.m. match on Sept. 20 will welcome 200+ elementary students for Education Day.

The nightcap on Sept. 20 will see the Purple and White take on Louisiana Monroe at 6 p.m. Early arriving fans will receive mini volleyballs while supplies last.

On Oct. 3 the Texans will host Seattle U for the first home conference match for Tarleton State. The 6 p.m. ''Bloktober'' matchup will offer foam hands to those in attendance while supplies last.

The following Thursday, Oct. 10, Tarleton State will see Abilene Christian return to Stephenville for the continuation of the I-20 Rivalry. The match will begin at 6 p.m. and the Purple People Bleeders theme will serve as the Purple Out matchup to show who really wears purple better.

As the Texans welcome Utah Valley to the 'Ville on Oct. 12 for homecoming, fans in attendance will receive volleyball jersey themed koozies while supplies last. The match will begin at 1 p.m.

On Oct. 26, the Purple and White will host a Pink Out themed match against Utah Tech as we Dig for a Cure. The match will begin at 1 p.m. and fans arriving early receive first access to pink pom poms.

Oct. 31 will see Tarleton State welcome California Baptist for a ''Volloween'' themed match. All fans in attendance are encouraged to dress up to show their Halloween spirit and early arrivers will receive Halloween themed rubber ducks. Match time is set for 6 p.m.

The Texans will host Southern Utah on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. A Throwback Thursday theme will see fans in attendance receive trading cards of the 2024 Tarleton State Volleyball team.

The Purple and White will close out the season at home as the Texans honor the team's seniors. Tarleton State will host UT Arlington on Senior Day at 6 p.m.

Tarleton State Volleyball will begin their season on the road with a scrimmage at Texas Tech on Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. A trio of tournaments will continue the Texans' time on the road starting Aug. 30 at the Lion Invitational at A&M Commerce.
