On Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at 1:56 AM, Troopers arrested Jesus Mercedes, age 43 of 900 Maple Valley Road, Coventry, Rhode Island for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs - B.A.C Unknown - 1st Offense 2) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in the City of Providence. The subject was transported to State Police - Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned and released to a responsible adult with a future Sixth Division District Court date.

On Wednesday, August 21st, 2024 at 3:30 AM, Troopers arrested Samantha Hardman, age 25 of 20 Albermarle Avenue, Johnston, Rhode Island for 1) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs - B.A.C. Unknown - 1st Offense 2) Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test. The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle crash involving a State Police cruiser on Douglas Pike in the Town of Smithfield. The subject was transported to the State Police - Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed, arraigned and released to a responsible adult with a future Third Division District Court date.
