Fall ‘24: Inside ‘Swoop’ on what’s new and upcoming

The University of North Florida welcomed new and returning students and their families back to campus during UNF Move-In today. President Moez Limayem, Provost Karen Patterson and Ozzie stopped by the Clubhouse to personally greet students as they checked in. More than 168 UNF community volunteers assisted including Jacksonville-based Corporate Traffic Logistics which provided chill-down stations at the residence halls packed with cold drinks, campus essentials and prizes.

As UNF soars into the fall semester, students and visitors will spot notable upgrades across campus including major building renovation projects, new academic programs, fresh dining options and exciting events. There will be opportunities for campus engagement and academic and personal growth for all students joining The Nest this fall.

This project will provide an additional 520 residential beds. As part of the construction, a new boardwalk will be built to connect the housing project to the center of the campus. The project is expected to be ready for student move-in for the fall 2025 term.

Following phase one's completion, phase two will include the construction of a new three-story infill building that joins Buildings 42 and Building 10 and is scheduled to be finished in late spring 2026.
