Today, Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced his membership in the newly launched Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus. Formed by Reps. Aaron Bean (R-Florida) and Pete Sessions (R-Texas), the DOGE Caucus will support President-elect Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency in its mission to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure federal agencies.
"Our national debt is now soaring at more than $36 trillion dollars, and we need to use every tool at our disposal to rein in wasteful spending and be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars," said Rep. Estes. "The government should work for the people - not be an obstacle that wastes their hard-earned dollars - and DOGE is a great way to help get back on track with this mission."
Since coming to Congress, Rep. Estes has been committed to reining in federal spending and keeping Washington bureaucracy in check. He supports balanced budget amendments to the U.S. Constitution and offered an amendment in the last Congress to reduce non-defense spending by 1%.
