NJ TRANSIT, U.S. ARMY RESERVE JOIN FORCES TO CREATE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOLDIERS

NJ TRANSIT, U.S. Army Reserve Sign Proclamation to Provide Employment Opportunities to Soldiers and Family Members

NEWARK, NJ -Today NJ TRANSIT and the United States Army Reserve announced a new partnership to connect reserve soldiers with meaningful employment opportunities through relationship building and career services.

NJ TRANSIT Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer Binu Thomas and U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) Private Public Partnership Office Director Alecia R. Grady signed the employee recruitment and outreach agreement during a ceremony at NJ TRANSIT'S headquarters in Newark.

"NJ TRANSIT is proud to partner with the U.S. Army Reserve to create meaningful career opportunities for reservists," said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett. "These men and women bring exceptional skills, leadership, and a commitment to service that aligns perfectly with our company's values."

More than 87% of Army Reserve soldiers combine military service with civilian careers, according to the Private Public Partnership office. This partnership allows NJ TRANSIT to assist those soldiers and their families to overcome barriers to obtain meaningful employment opportunities. This in turn helps enhance their financial stability and enables them to create community connections.
