PennDOT Updates Drivers on Clinton County Bridge Preservation

09/03/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) updated drivers on a rehabilitation project impacting two bridges along Route 220 in Castanea Township, Clinton County. The bridges span Lower Creek Road at mile marker 112 of Route 220, and this project will improve the ride quality of both structures, extend their service life, and improve their overall condition ratings.

Starting Thursday, September 5, the contractor will begin sealing the bridge joints on the northbound bridge, which requires them to close the left (passing) lane and left shoulder of the northbound lanes. PennDOT expects this work to be complete by the close of business on Friday, September 6. All work is weather-dependent.

The self-regulated stop signs stationed on Lower Creek Road when the project started on April 29 remain in place.

Rylind Construction of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $771,000 project. PennDOT anticipates completion by the end of September.
