Bangkok, July 5, 2024 - True Corporation, Thailand's leading telecom-tech company, enhances the True 5G network to serve an overnight surge in mobile network usage in Yaowarat. This follows the release of the music video for "Rockstar" by Lisa (Lalisa Manoban), a renowned Thai artist. The MV, filmed in Yaowarat, was launched on June 28, 2024. The "Rockstar" trend has not only shaken the global music scene but also turned Yaowarat into a bustling check-in spot for both Thai and international tourists, leading to an immediate 15% increase in user activity and over a 6% increase in data usage within less than 24 hours of the song's release.

The "Rockstar" music video not only showcases Lisa's talent as a solo artist but also highlights the charm of Yaowarat, Bangkok's famous Chinatown, sparking significant tourism and social media activity in the area.

Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology Officer of True Corporation Plc., said, "We have prepared to handle the significant increase in network usage in Yaowarat by focusing on signal quality and enhancing our service capacity for both True and Dtac customers. We analyzed Mobility Data, or the overall movement data of users in Yaowarat, using our Business and Network Intelligence Center (BNIC) and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our 5G networks, ensuring comprehensive service coverage and the best 5G experience for our customers."

Data from True Corporation indicates a substantial increase in the use of popular applications in Yaowarat after the "Rockstar" MV launch. In the Yaowarat area, compared to the week before and after the MV release, YouTube usage increased by 20%, Twitter by 15%, and Line by 15%. Additionally, the number of network users in the area rose by nearly 15%.

"Our engineering team monitors network usage in real-time 24 hours a day to ensure that our more than 50 million True and dtac customers nationwide receive the highest quality service, especially during peak usage times around 8:00 PM," Mr. Prathet added.

The "Rockstar" phenomenon not only brings pride to Thais but also significantly boosts tourism and stimulates the economy in Yaowarat.
