King of Prussia, PA- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction has been completed on a project to replace the Lurgan Road bridge over Branch of Pidcock Creek in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor replaced the 114-year-old bridge with a concrete box culvert. The structure carries an average of 971 vehicles per day.
Lurgan Road bridge is one of seven structures in Bucks and Montgomery counties that PennDOT is rehabilitating or replacing under a $7,987,000 project.
To date, Ashbourne Road bridge over Branch of Tookany Creek in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, has also been completed.
The other structures scheduled for culvert replacements include the following:
Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, New Jersey, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
