Han Zheng Holds Cordial Talks with French President Emmanuel Macron

On the afternoon of July 26, 2024 local time, President Xi Jinping's Special Representative and Vice President Han Zheng, who was invited to France to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, had cordial talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée Palace in Paris.

Han Zheng conveyed the cordial greetings of President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan to Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron. Han Zheng said that he is pleased to be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games and wishes it a splendid and smooth success. President Xi Jinping's state visit to France in May this year is a complete success, demonstrating the unique and high-level nature of China-France friendship and is of great significance to the steady and sound development of China-Europe relations and world peace and stability.

Emmanuel Macron asked Han Zheng to convey sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan, thanked and welcomed Han Zheng to France to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games as President Xi Jinping's Special Representative. Emmanuel Macron said, in May this year, he held friendly talks with President Xi Jinping and his visit to France was very successful.

On the same day, Han Zheng also held friendly talks with Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto, President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti, Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Mohammad Al-Manfi, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, Guinean Transitional Prime Minister and Head of Government Amadou Oury Bah and other foreign leaders.
