Christian and Trigg County Students Complete Summer Internships in Congressman Comer’s Paducah Office

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) recognized Chase Hendricks and Colson Thomas for completing their summer internships in his Paducah, Kentucky District office. While in their roles, Chase and Colson learned about city and county government operations, met and spoke with 1st Congressional District constituents, and assisted Congressman Comer's Field Representatives to ensure local issues were addressed.

"In my Paducah Office, Chase and Colson were a great addition to my team, and I want to thank them for their service to the 1st Congressional District. Their work this summer was critical in helping me and my staff address concerns from constituents across Western Kentucky. These two Murray State students have a bright future ahead of them and I wish them the best as they pursue their goals," Congressman Comer said.

Chase Hendricks, a Christian County native, is a junior pursuing his degree in Psychology from Murray State University.

"My internship with Congressman Comer has allowed me to listen to concerns of constituents in the 1st Congressional District and see the efforts in how Congressman Comer is able to understand constituents' visions and needs," Hendricks said.

Colson Thomas, a Trigg County native, is a junior pursuing his degree in Political Science and Pre-Law from Murray State University.

"This internship has helped me understand how local, state, and federal government work together to improve the lives of Kentucky's 1st Congressional District," Thomas said.

In Congressman Comer's District offices, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist in various constituent case work or work on District-based projects of importance.
