Published: Oct 04, 2024

Schedule: Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to perform curb ramp and sidewalk work on the State Route 1 (Shoreline Highway) Capital Preventative Maintenance Project in October.

One-way traffic control is scheduled for electrical work in front of West Marin School in Point Reyes on Thursday, Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Flaggers will be on site to help drivers.

A traffic shift may be needed for curb ramp and sidewalk work in Tomales from Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

Changeable Message signs will be put up in the areas to remind residents about the construction.

This overall project will repair segments of SR-1 and will include cycling and pedestrian upgrades. The project is slated to make improvements during a nearly 14-mile stretch from Olema through Point Reyes Station and from Tomales to the county line.

The upgrades include pavement resurfacing and repairs; restriping; culvert replacements to improve drainage; shoulder widening to help cyclists; guardrail, crosswalk, and signage upgrades; new signage; and sidewalk and path upgrades to meet disability access standards and improve access to West Marin-Inverness School in Point Reyes Station.

The completion timeline for the project is Summer 2025.

All work is dependent on weather.

Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
