AmeriCorps Seniors requests Public Comment on Program Operation Restrictions

Public has 60 days to provide input on prohibitions, limitations and requirements for AmeriCorps Seniors programs.

WASHINGTON, DC-AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, issued a request for public commentregarding certain restrictions and requirements on the operation of AmeriCorps Seniors programs. AmeriCorps is seeking input on the following regulatory restrictions that currently exist on the operation of AmeriCorps Seniors programs:

  1. A general prohibition on State Commissions operating AmeriCorps Seniors programs.
  2. A prohibition on AmeriCorps Seniors grantees delegating or contracting management responsibilities to another entity.
  3. A limitation on for-profit childcare organizations' facilities being used as volunteer sites.
  4. A requirement for AmeriCorps Seniors grantees to carry certain types of insurance.
