Volusia County has launched a new Emergency Management app to enhance communication with residents and visitors during crises such as hurricanes and wildfires. The app retains features of its predecessor, including real-time situational updates, weather conditions, sandbag distribution points, shelter locations, and evacuation alerts. It also boasts an improved user interface, simplifying navigation and improving the overall user experience.

"With the enhanced features and streamlined interface of our new app, it better equips us to guide our residents through the steps of preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies," said Emergency Management Director Clint Mecham. "It puts critical information directly in the hands of our residents, when and where they need it."

The app not only delivers real-time emergency notifications but also offers educational resources and preparedness tips for various potential disasters. Effective immediately, the previous app will no longer receive updates or be monitored. Users are encouraged to delete the outdated app and download the new version to stay informed and prepared. When searching for the app, enter "Volusia Emergency Management." The division's logo serves as the app's icon. The app is available for download in both the App Storeand Google Play.
