H.E. MR. N. ANKHBAYAR, PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE, MEETS WITH DIRECTOR OF THE POLICE DIVISION OF THE UN

On November 21, 2024, H.E. Mr. N. Ankhbayar, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, met with Mr. Faisal Shahkar, United Nations Police Adviser and Director of the Police Division.

During the meeting, he provided an overview of Mongolia's contributions to UN peacekeeping operations and presented a letter from the Minister of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia, formally requesting the deployment of Formed Police Units (FPUs) to enhance the participation of Mongolian police officers in these vital missions.

Mr. Faisal Shahkar, United Nations Police Adviser and Director of the Police Division, expressed his deep appreciation for Mongolia's significant contributions to UN peacekeeping operations. He welcomed the request for the participation of Mongolian police teams and emphasized the potential to enhance training opportunities for Mongolian officers through UN-organized programs. He also expressed readiness to collaborate on conducting assessments and providing guidance to support these efforts, including exploring possibilities for visiting to Mongolia.
