The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, congratulated Raya Nazaryan on the occasion of her election as President of the 50th National Assembly and expressed hope that the excellent cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries will continue to develop and deepen. The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament is the first Chairman of another country's Parliament to personally congratulate the new President of the National Assembly.

In the video conference, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted the gratitude of the Ukrainian people for Bulgaria's unwavering support not only for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also for the country's integration into the EU. We highly appreciate everything the Bulgarian Parliament has done for Ukraine, he added.

We support Ukraine in its just cause to defend its right to choose its own security guarantees and development path, Raya Nazaryan stressed. She pointed out that Bulgaria is one of the strongest and most active supporters of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. We are looking forward to the first Intergovernmental Conference with Ukraine, which will be held next week and will mark the beginning of EU accession negotiations, the President of the Parliament noted. Raya Nazaryan expressed the readiness of Bulgarian parliamentarians to share their experience of the European integration process and congratulated Ukraine on the significant progress in implementing key reforms - an impressive achievement against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing full-scale military aggression.
