Conversations on Health Disparities – Mental Health with NAMI Memphis

Join us at noon on Thursday, August 22 in the Schreier Auditorium (SAC) for a Conversation on Health Disparities about Mental Health and Social Isolation with Sharon Gartrell of NAMI Memphis. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP, so reserve your spot today via Engage.

Sharon Gartrell is a disabled US Army veteran and a longtime advocate and board member of NAMI Memphis. NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is a grass-roots organization that seeks to improve quality of life for people with mental illness, their families, and communities. Ms. Gartrell will be joining us to talk about her work with NAMI, as well as how common mental health diagnoses can lead to isolation and stigma.

Any UTHSC student, faculty or staff is welcome to attend, regardless of campus or certificate enrollment status. For more information about the Co-Curricular Certificate, please visit our website.
