Oelslager Highlights Recently Passed Legislation

COLUMBUS-Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the recent passage of multiple House bills.

"In everything I do, whether it is in Columbus or back in my home district of Stark County, I will continue to make your priorities my priorities," said Oelslager.

Each bill is highlighted below:

• Regards ODOT responsibility for state highways in municipalities (96-0): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 370 will require the Ohio Department of Transportation to maintain and repair state routes that run through villages.
• Township Omnibus Bill 94-0): Sub. House Bill 315 will aide Ohio townships by creating a township license plate to better identify township vehicles and granting townships the authority to establish Township Preservation Commissions to participate in the Certified Local Government program and become eligible for federal grants, among other provisions.
• Prohibit government purchase of non-U.S. made U.S. or Ohio flag (94-1): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 87 will ensure that American and Ohio flags purchased by the state or political subdivisions are made in the United States.
• Regards the sale of used catalytic converters (93-2): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 328 will amend sections of the revised code regarding the sale of catalytic converters to combat catalytic converter theft.
• Braden's Law (95-0): House Bill 531 will define and combat sextortion in Ohio.
• Regards hospital violence prevention, training, security plans (72-21): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 452 will provide a framework for statewide violence prevention and workplace safety plans, training, and reporting standards.
• Modify organ donation tax credit; create employer credit (82-10): Sub. House Bill 399 will provide financial relief to living organ donors by creating a new income tax credit for employers who provide paid leave to an employee who makes an organ donation.
• Increase awareness of cognitive impairment, dementia (94-0): House Bill 397 will increase public awareness of the early warning signs of dementia.
• Require health plan and Medicaid coverage of biomarker testing (77-17): Sub. House Bill 24 will increase and standardize access to biomarker testing for Ohioans battling cancer and other diseases.
