The information below represents a few of the notable calls for service handled by the Verona Police Department between November 4th at 7:00 a.m. and November 11th at 7:00 a.m. This information is not all-inclusive, but rather just preliminary information gathered from officers who investigated the calls.

11/5/24 @ 12:27 a.m. - After stopping a vehicle for an equipment violation, an officer detected signs of impairment in the driver, a 31yo Madison man. He was ultimately arrested for OWI-1st offense and was booked into jail for going armed with a firearm while intoxicated.

11/6/24 @ 7:33 a.m. - A 28yo Lisle, IL man was stopped for speeding. He was cited for that traffic violation and was also arrested and booked into jail on an arrest warrant.

11/6/24 @ 4:31 p.m. - After an officer stopped a vehicle for having suspended plates, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, a 26yo man from Madison, was cited for possession of marijuana, operating after revocation, and for failing to install an ignition interlock device.

11/6/24 @ 11:14 p.m. - Officers were dispatched to the area of East Verona Avenue and Maple Grove Drive for a report of a single vehicle crash with the driver fleeing the scene on foot. Officers arrived and located an extensively damaged 2012 Dodge Charger. A VPD drone was launched, and the drone was successful in locating the driver, who was apprehended shortly after by officers. 11/7/24 @ 5:42 p.m. - Motor vehicle crash with injuries. A 48yo Verona man was traveling westbound on E. Verona Avenue and struck a parked and uncopied vehicle. The driver was cited for deviating from his designated lane.

11/8/24 @ 11:19 p.m. - A 51yo Verona man was arrested for Battery and Disorderly conduct following a disturbance investigation on Faircrest Court.

11/9/24 @ 2:59 a.m. - After an officer stopped a car for driving without headlights, signs of impairment were detected in the driver, a 23yo man from Madison. He was arrested for OWI - 1st Offense.

11/9/24 @ 10:40 a.m. - Officers were dispatched to a report of a road rage incident in which one driver pointed a handgun at the other. The suspect vehicle was described as a green GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado with a rear window sticker of a deer and the words, "Buck Off". Officers checked the area but were unable to initially locate the suspect.

11/9/24 @ 10:09 p.m. - A vehicle was reported driving recklessly, jumping a curb and taking out a fire hydrant, and nearly striking a pedestrian before it fled the area. Parts left at the scene were used to identify the vehicle, and the suspected driver, a 66yo Verona man, was arrested for Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. He was also cited for Hit & Run.
