GFL Recycling, Yard Waste, And Trash Collection To Begin At 5 am Due To The Heat

Due to the forecasted hot temperatures, the City of Peoria's recycling, yard waste, and trash collections will begin one hour earlier on Tuesday and Wednesday.

GFL will start collections at 5 am on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and Wednesday, Aug. 28. At this time, the earlier start time will only affect pickup on those two days. Collections on Thursday and Friday will resume as usual.

Containers should be set out by 5 am on Tuesday and Wednesday to avoid a missed pickup.

To avoid missing a collection, recycling, yard waste, and trash containers should be set out by 5 am on your scheduled day. After pickup, move your containers from the curb or alley within 24 hours. Place them in your garage or alongside your house or garage. Please do not leave containers on the street or sidewalk.
