CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Chandler City Council recently approved the allocation of city General Funds in the amount of $2,083,776.27 to several local nonprofit organizations as they each carry out their mission to help residents in need.

These funds were authorized under the guidance and recommendations from Chandler's Housing and Human Services Commission.

The following list features the organizations receiving an allocation (identified by priorities from a previous Community Needs Assessment), and the dollar amount recommended to receive:

• Resurrection Street Ministry, Inc. - Feeding Our Chandler Neighbors 2024: $30,000
• Save the Family Foundation of Arizona - Rapid Rehousing for Chandler Families: $120,000
• Semicolon Society - Semicolon Society Community Hope Project: $15,000
• St. Joseph the Worker - Employment Without Barriers Program: $10,000
• The Salvation Army, A California Corporation - Chandler Corps Client Choice Food Pantry: $20,000
• The Salvation Army, A California Corporation - Housing Stability Assistance: $50,000
• United Food Bank - The Emergency Food Assistance Program Chandler: $10,000
• Valley of the Sun YMCA - Chandler Family YMCA Chandler i-Learn Program: $20,000

These allocations are available through several funds - including the city's Social Services Fund (SSF), the Youth Enhancement Program (YEP) and a City Council designation for veterans transportation and one-time funding. In addition, more than $25,000 in contributions made by Chandler residents through utility bill donations are part of the allocated amount.
