MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center celebrates second anniversary of Kidney Transplant Program (September 30, 2024)

Lancaster, S.C. (September 30, 2024) - MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is proud to celebrate the second anniversary of the MUSC Health Transplant Program-Mid-Carolinas, which has successfully performed 186 kidney transplants since its inception in July 2022. This milestone marks a significant achievement in providing advanced, life-saving care to patients with end-stage renal disease in Lancaster County and beyond.

To commemorate this occasion, leaders are delighted to announce the installation of the new Founders Federal Credit Union signage on the Transplant Program building. Founders Federal Credit Union has been a key partner in the launch and ongoing success of the transplant program, generously donating to help establish this vital service.

Since becoming one of only three kidney transplant programs in the state, MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center has been instrumental in increasing transplantation as a treatment option for South Carolinians. The program's highly qualified surgeons and nephrologists provide comprehensive pre- and post-transplant care locally, eliminating the need for patients to travel long distances for life- saving treatment.
