Thank you Mr Chair,

Director General,

Excellencies,

Distinguished colleagues

1 Singapore thanks Director General Daren Tang and the WIPO Secretariat for your excellent organisation of the Assemblies. And to you, Mr Chair, we convey our support to the Chair in making these Assemblies a successful one, and we align ourselves with the statements made by, APG and ASEANS.

2The successful conclusion of the GRATK Treaty illustrates that despite ongoing global challenges, WIPO Member States still place high importance on the value of multilateralism and international law. I hope that we can extend the same collaborative and constructive spirit to the Assemblies and the upcoming Diplomatic Conference on the Design Law Treaty.

3Singapore appreciates WIPO's support in the Asia and the Pacific region where your programmes have delivered practical and impactful outcomes. And Singapore is glad to work with WIPO and the WIPO Singapore Office to write the growth story of IP development in our region.

4 Likewise in ASEAN, we have several initiatives like the ASEAN IP Portal, and patent work-sharing programmes. And we have a regional exhibition on this year and welcome everyone to visit the ASEAN exhibition in the WIPO Lobby.

5In Singapore, our IP Office remains committed to supporting enterprise growth through IP. We launched the Intangibles Disclosure Framework to help businesses systematically disclose their intangible assets for IP valuation and commercialization. And we have also established an online called Go Business IP Grow for 20 different IA/IP services, including commercialisation and financing services.

6 In closing, Singapore reaffirms our support for WIPO and its work and looks forward to a successful Assemblies.

Thank you.
