Happening at Hays: The hidden joys of horseback riding

[Link]Hays Nature Preserve provides a beautiful setting for exploring nature on horseback along 10 miles of trails specifically for horseback riding. The trails have undergone extensive clear out recently but be mindful of any flood debris on the trails as this work nears completion.

• Be sure to follow trail etiquette on your ride:
• Yield to hikers, keep a safe distance from wildlife and respect the natural environment
• Plan your ride to ensure you have enough time to explore the trails and return before dark
• To protect the natural habitat and for safety, stay on designated horseback riding trails. Horseback riding is permitted only on specific trails
• Leave behind only hoofprints from your ride and collect all litter to keep the preserve looking beautiful
