20 November 2024: ICGEB leaders meet Italian diplomats to discuss joint projects aimed at addressing global challenges in sustainability and healthcare.".
Dr. Lawrence Banks, Director General of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), and Dr. Ramesh V. Sonti, Director of ICGEB New Delhi, met with Ambassador of Italy to India H.E. Amb. Antonio Bartoli and his Scientific Attaché, Prof. Sergio Ledda, at the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi. The meeting focused on furthering collaboration between India and Italy in key scientific areas, particularly biofuels, agriculture, and biopharma.
The discussions were productive, with both parties keen to strengthen the cooperation via joint projects that leverage their respective expertise. Such collaboration, it is hoped would address global challenges in sustainable energy, food security, and healthcare, while enhancing the shared goals of innovation and research between the two nations.
