5 Student-Athletes to Represent Adapted Athletics in Paris

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Five student-athletes in The University of Alabama's Adapted Athletics programs and 10 alumni will be representing Teams USA and Great Britain in the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.

The Paralympic Games take place Aug. 28 through Sept. 8. Complete schedules and more information can be found on the Paralympics website.

UA-Paralympian Fast Facts

  • Coach Ryan Hynes will be Team USA's Women's assistant coach. He is the current UA Women's Wheelchair Basketball head coach.
  • Alex Curry will be the head athletic trainer for Team USA. She is the current UA Adapted Athletics sports medicine director.
  • Darrell Hargreaves, associate director of facility operations for University Recreation at UA, will serve again as a referee for the Games. He has been refereeing professionally since 2009 and his first big tournament was the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
