TSTC holds Summer 2024 Commencement in Fort Bend County

(ROSENBERG, Texas) - Graduates from Texas State Technical College's Fort Bend County campus and their families and friends attended TSTC's Summer 2024 Commencement held Friday, Aug. 23, at the Stafford Centre in Stafford.

Each of the 124 graduates received either an Associate of Applied Science degree or a certificate of completion in their program.

Bryan Bowling, provost for TSTC's Fort Bend County campus, was grateful for the chance to celebrate the graduates' accomplishments.

"Our commencement ceremony is truly a celebration of the raging success of our graduates," he said. "Family members, friends, fellow students all band together to support their pathway to success."

The faculty members who instructed and guided the students could be seen mingling and talking before the ceremony began. Graduating students expressed their gratitude to them for the hands-on training they received.

One such student was Charles Kaduru, who received an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Welding Technology program.

"I'm a hands-on person, and I wanted to find an education that filled that need," he said. "The instructors could be a little tough, but they just wanted to teach you the best."

Many students echoed Kaduru's sentiments and were excited to begin their careers.

Carter Hood, who received a certificate of completion from the Electrical Lineworker and Management Technology program, was one of the students who had already begun work.

"I knew I wanted to go into electrical," he said. "So when I saw the lineworker program - - and how much money they could make - - I figured I'd give it a shot."
