Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12, along with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites the community to participate in the virtual plans display of the Bridge Scour Mitigation and Preservation Project in Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

This project consists of repairing scour damage to the stream, banks, and substructure as well as other minor structure preservation work. Scour countermeasures will be installed at all locations to help prevent future scour problems and extend the life of the structures.

Information on the Bridge Scour Mitigation and Preservation, including a short overview and an online comment form, is available on the PennDOT website beginning today, Tuesday, October 15, through Tuesday, October 29.

Visit the PennDOT District 12 website at http://www.penndot.pa.gov/District12. Click the Design and Construction Projects link under the District Links heading, click the Fayette County box, and select the Bridge Scour Mitigation and Preservation tile.

The online plans display introduces the project and elicits public input regarding questions or concerns. The public may also review and comment on the project's potential effects on Cultural Resources, according to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Project documents will be made available in alternative languages or formats if requested. If you cannot access the information online, require translation/interpretation services, or have special needs necessitating individual attention, contact PennDOT Project Manager James Wolfe P.E, at 724-430-4420 or [email protected].
