We were so glad to join Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, along with Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, Commissioner Carmen Rubio, Metro, and Oregon Housing and Community Servicesto celebrate the site kickoff of Gooseberry Trails, a 53-unit affordable homeownership development in Hillsdale for families making up to 80% Area Median Income (AMI).
Gooseberry Trails will include 45 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes, including 5 ADA-accessible, single-story homes. These homes will remain permanently affordable when re-sold thanks to a land trust partnership with Proud Ground. 40% of the 5-acre site will remain as shared green space, and the homes will be constructed with state-of-the-art energy efficient design.
This project was made possible thanks to funding from the voter-approved Metro Housing Bond, which is on track to bring 1,776 affordable online all across Portland, with hundreds more to be announced soon. Thank you to Metro-area voters for investing in affordable homes!
