OFFICIAL WELCOMING CEREMONY WAS HELD FOR HIS MAJESTY JIGME KHESAR NAMGYEL WANGCHUCK OF THE KINGDOM OF BHUTAN

The President of Mongolia H.E U.Khurelsukh and his spouse Mrs. L.Bolortsetseg officially welcomed Their Majesties King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck of the Kingdom of Bhutan at the Sukhbaatar Square.

Upon a report of the Commander of the State Honor Guard, the national anthems of both countries were performed. After the Heads of State of the two countries paid tribute to the State White Banners, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck inspected the State Honor Guards.

President H.E U.Khurelsukh and His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck greeted the officials as well as Heads of Diplomatic Missions and representatives of international organizations attending the ceremony.

After The Heads of State of the two countries paid tribute to the Statue of The Great Emperor Chinggis Khaan, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck signed the Book of Honored Guests at the State Palace of Mongolia.

During the visit, the Heads of State will hold official talks and plan to sign bilateral documents aimed at expanding the friendly relations and strengthening the legal framework.

His Majesty the King Jigme, accompanied by the Royal family, will attend the opening ceremony of the National Naadam Festival and other ceremonial events as the Guest of Honor. They will visit the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, Bogd Khaan Palace Museum to get acquainted with Mongolian history, culture and traditions.

Furthermore, as a member of the International Think Tank for Land Locked Developing Countries, the Bhutanese delegation plans to attend the Think Tank.

Mongolia and the Kingdom of Bhutan established diplomatic relations on 18 January, 2012.
