Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10700 Gulf Freeway

July 1, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 10:10 p.m. on Saturday (June 29).

The identity of the deceased female, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer J. Trevino reported:

The female, a pedestrian, was believed to be walking in the right shoulder of the freeway at the above address when she was struck by a vehicle after it traveled from an entrance ramp onto the northbound lanes of the freeway. The driver left the scene. Paramedics were called and pronounced the female deceased.

The male driver, 82, was later located after his family reported he had been involved in a crash while driving his gray Toyota RAV4. The male was questioned and released with no charges filed.

The investigation is continuing.
