ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas Health Resources is one of America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2025, earning five stars for organizations with 20,000-plus employees, according to an analysis by Newsweek and the data firm Plant-A Insights Group. This is the third consecutive year the organization has received the recognition.
This honor highlights organizations that are building strong work environments and cultivating a diverse workforce.
"At Texas Health, we are committed to creating a workplace where diversity is celebrated and inclusion exists at all levels," said Barclay Berdan, FACHE, Texas Health's CEO. "We live by Our Texas Health Promise: Individuals Caring For Individuals, Together, and being mindful and considerate of people and their life experiences and beliefs is central to that."
Texas Health supports career growth with leadership development programs, mentoring and training to learn new skills while working. At Texas Health, women represent nearly 80% of the workforce, and more than 50% of care teams are ethnically/racially diverse.
The rankings are based on an assessment of publicly accessible data, discussions/interviews with human resources professionals and large-scale, confidential online surveys conducted among employees from U.S. companies.
Texas Health encourages employee input on ways to improve and enhance the quality of care and experience the organization offers and create strategies that help build a diverse working culture.
"By embracing the strengths our varied backgrounds bring, we provide better caregiver and consumer experiences," said Carla Dawson, chief people officer. "We are committed to making sure our workforce reflects the diverse communities we are privileged to serve."
Texas Health's workplace culture has been widely recognized for excellence. In September, Texas Health placed No. 1 on the 2024 Fortune Best Workplaces in Health Care™ list. This follows 2024 recognitions on Fortune's Best Workplaces in Texas™ list and the Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® list. The organization has been honored by Newsweek as one of America's Greatest Workplaces for 2024 and received the Business Group on Health Best Employers: Excellence in Health & Well-being Award.
