Meierotto discusses immigration for Idaho Statesman story

Lisa Meierotto

Lisa Meierotto, an associate professor in the School of Public Service, was interviewed by the Idaho Statesman about immigration fears and rhetoric surrounding a current issue in Eagle, Idaho.

In the article - "'Necessary' or harmful? Emails show anti-immigrant fear shaped Eagle's nonsanctuary move" - Meierotto discusses three harmful perceptions of immigrants: that they take jobs and social services, that they bring more crime, and they create a demographic change to the country.

"The things that we are hearing right now, these perceptions of immigrants, are just really bad politically motivated misinformation," she said in the article.
