All Kind Celebrates Grand Opening of Jane and Phil Guitar PARC Saturday, October 19, 2024

All Kind Animal Initiative (All Kind) is excited to announce the grand opening of Abilene's much-anticipated Pet Adoption and Resource Center (PARC) on October 19, 2024. The new state-of-the-art facility at 610 East South 11th Street marks a major milestone in the community's efforts to improve animal welfare and care for homeless pets.

The Grand Opening Celebration will be held from 12:00 - 5:00 pm and will feature bounce houses, food trucks, raffle items, and a mega adoption event. The entire community is invited to join in the festivities and tour the new facility, which will provide a welcoming, safe, and modern environment for animals awaiting their forever homes.

The completion of the PARC is a result of a groundbreaking partnership between All Kind and the City of Abilene. All Kind spearheaded the project, handling the design, fundraising, and now the operation of the new adoption center. Built adjacent to Cal Young Park, the facility replaces the aging Abilene Animal Shelter on South 25th Street and represents a significant upgrade for the care and welfare of Abilene's homeless pets.

"The completion of the PARC is a dream come true for our organization and our city," said Andrea Robison, Founder of All Kind. "This facility is more than just a shelter-it's a symbol of our commitment to providing the best care possible for animals in need and a brighter future for Abilene's homeless pets. We are so grateful to our community, donors, and the City of Abilene for their unwavering support."

The new Pet Adoption and Resource Center will serve as a central hub for animal welfare in Abilene, offering adoption services, spay/neuter programs, expanded foster and volunteer opportunities, and educational resources for pet owners. The Grand Opening Mega Adoption Event will feature numerous pets available for adoption, with the goal of helping as many animals as possible find loving homes.

Construction on the PARC began in August 2023, and the facility has been designed to prioritize animal comfort and well-being, with modern amenities and dedicated spaces for animal care, adoption meet-and-greets, and community outreach.

The All Kind team is continuing to raise funds to fully equip the facility with veterinary equipment and furnishings to provide top-quality care for the animals. To learn more about the PARC or to make a donation, visit www.allkindabilene.org.

About All Kind Animal Initiative

All Kind Animal Initiative was founded in March of 2021 with the firm belief that it was time to raise the bar on animal welfare in our community. All Kind is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve animal welfare in the City of Abilene by building a new animal shelter facility, decreasing the homeless pet population through accessible spay/neuter programs, increasing pet retention through expanded foster programming and adoption events, and offering greater education and resources through community outreach.
