As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing - 3400 block of Orange Avenue: On Sept. 23, 2024 at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Orange Avenue regarding a stabbing. The preliminary investigation indicates that a male adult victim was stabbed in the upper body. The victim was uncooperative with the investigation. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital. Suspect information and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took a gun off the streets.

  • On Sept. 23, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Cherry Avenue regarding a robbery call. Officers located the suspect vehicle and after a pursuit, arrested two male adult suspects. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The investigation is ongoing.
