Briar Cliff University is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Cyndi Hanson as the new Human Resources Manager. Hanson brings over 20 years of extensive experience in higher education and staff development, with a career focused on enhancing services and processes in both educational and business settings.
Throughout her career, Hanson has made significant contributions to Wayne State College and several regional community colleges. She is recognized for her expertise in leadership, relationship building, workforce development, curriculum planning, and process improvement.
"We are excited to welcome Dr. Hanson to Briar Cliff University," said John Robertson, Vice President of Finance. "Her extensive experience, along with her dedication to professional development, will be instrumental in strengthening our community connections and supporting our employees."
In addition to her professional achievements, Hanson is also deeply committed to community service and leadership. She currently serves as Secretary of the Sioux City NAACP, on the Board of Directors for Dakota County Leadership, as President of the One Siouxland Board, on the City of Sioux City Civil Service Commission, and as a member of the Growing Community Connections Board of Directors. In addition, she volunteers with the Center for Siouxland's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Her past contributions include roles with the Missouri River Historical Development, Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service, Women Aware, among others.
Hanson holds a Doctor of Education in Education Administration from the University of South Dakota, a Master of Science in Adult Education, Training & Development from Drake University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Briar Cliff College.
