Residents should prepare for gusty winds, high tides

We're closely monitoring Tropical Storm Beryl and anticipate another forecast update from the National Weather Service at 11 a.m.

For now, we anticipate gusty, Tropical Storm strength winds from Beryl and tides comparable or slightly higher than Tropical Storm Alberto. The last National Weather Service tide report predicted 2'-4' tides in our area.

This means that residents should secure boats and outdoor furniture, as well as anything that could float or blow away.

Per city ordinance, construction sites and portable bathrooms must be secure. Companies and contractors that do not secure these sites may be subject to fines.

This is the time to prepare. We expect showers tomorrow and the worst of the weather on Monday.
