Route 40 Lane Restrictions Begin Monday in Washington County

10/11/2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing single-lane restrictions on Route 40 (National Pike) scheduled to begin Monday morning, October 14, between Pennsylvania Turnpike 43 (Mon/Fayette Expressway) and Daniel Kendall Drive in Centerville, California, and West Brownsville boroughs, Washington County.

Lanes will be reduced to 12 feet wide, and restrictions will be in place around the clock, eastbound and westbound. The single-lane restriction on Route 2079 (Knob Road) between Route 2073 (Malden Road) and Route 2048 (Old National Pike) remains in place.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. are conducting emergency repairs - necessitated by a July 31 bridge strike - on the structure that carries Route 2079 (Knob Road) over Route 40 (National Pike). They will be painting the beams on the bridge and repairing the median barrier on Route 40.

Work is anticipated through early November. All work depends on weather and operations.

Remain alert and follow posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
