CITY REFUSE SCHEDULE TO BE MODIFIED FOR THE WEEKS OF THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, AND NEW YEAR’S

(Charleston, W. Va.) - The City of Charleston Public Works Department today announced City refuse collection will be modified the weeks of Thanksgiving (November 25-29), Christmas (December 23-27), and New Year's (December 30-January 3). As part of the city's proactive strategy to inform residents of the upcoming holiday refuse schedule, the City will use a combination of automated calls, newspaper ads, and social media.

Week of Thanksgiving (November 25-29)
Monday, November 25 - MODIFIED (If your trash is normally picked up on Tuesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Monday.
Tuesday, November 26 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Wednesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Tuesday
Wednesday, November 27 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Thursday, your trash pick up will be moved to Wednesday.
Thursday, November 28 - HOLIDAY: No trash will be picked up on Thanksgiving Day.
Friday, November 29 - NO CHANGE: If your trash is normally picked up on Friday, it will be picked up on Friday.

Week of Christmas (December 23-27)
Monday, December 23 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Tuesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Monday.
Tuesday, December 24 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Wednesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Tuesday
Wednesday, December 25 - HOLIDAY: No trash will be picked up on Christmas Day.
Thursday, December 26 - NO CHANGE: If your trash is normally picked up on Thursday, it will be picked up on Thursday.
Friday, December 27 - NO CHANGE: If your trash is normally picked up on Friday, it will be picked up on Friday.

Week of New Year's (December 30-January 3)
Monday, December 30 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Tuesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Monday.
Tuesday, December 31 - MODIFIED: If your trash is normally picked up on Wednesday, your trash pick up will be moved to Tuesday
Wednesday, January 1 - HOLIDAY: No trash will be picked up on New Year's Day.
Thursday, January 2 - NO CHANGE: If your trash is normally picked up on Thursday, it will be picked up on Thursday.
Friday, January 3 - NO CHANGE: If your trash is normally picked up on Friday, it will be picked up on Friday.
