JOHNSTON, IA - Today offices in the United States House of Representatives introduced the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act, cosponsored by Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks. This is a House companion year-round E15 bill to the Senate bill introduced last year. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) Executive Director Monte Shaw made the following statement:

"While the Biden Administration granted Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds' request for year-round E15 to take effect in 2025 in eight Midwest states, consumers deserve a year-round nationwide affordable option at the pump. We can use Iowa and these other seven Midwest states as a steppingstone to achieve nationwide E15, especially as consumers continue to demand a fuel that is the cleaner-burning, cost-effective option. It would also be a key demand driver for ethanol at a time when corn prices are generally below the cost of production for our farmers. IRFA members thank Rep. Miller-Meeks for her leadership of this proposed legislation and striving to provide certainty for retailers and consumers across the United States."
