The Cat Empire to Headline New Year’s Eve

The City of Rockingham's Summer Series is back for 2024/2025, with a fun-filled program of free and family-friendly events from now until the end of March 2025.

The Summer Series includes the City's major annual events - the Christmas Lights Launch, New Year's Eve, Celebrate Australia Day, Symphony on the Green and Performance in the Park.

The City is excited to announce The Cat Empire (pictured) will be headlining the entertainment for New Year's Eve at the Rockingham Foreshore on Tuesday 31 December.

The evening will kick off at 5pm with roaming entertainment, children's activities, amusement rides and food vendors. For the early birds there will be a fireworks show at 9pm. Then, The Cat Empire will be lighting up the stage with their signature beats and energy before Big Horn Productions leads the countdown to another spectacular fireworks show at midnight.

Other Summer Series highlights

  • The Christmas Lights Launch on Friday 6 December with lots of festive fun for the whole family, including a visit from Santa, stage performances, roaming entertainment, children's activities, market stalls, food vendors and turning on the Christmas lights at 8pm.
  • Celebrate Australia Day, Sunday 26 January 2025 at Churchill Park and Bell Park. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including stage performances, roaming entertainment, children's activities, food vendors and a fireworks display.
  • Symphony on the Green and Performance in the Park. On Saturday 22 February 2025 enjoy a magical evening under the stars for the whole family with a free concert from the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and special guests. Come back to the Village Green on Sunday 23 February at 5pm for a family theatre performance, food vendors and other entertainment.
  • The Summer Series weekly outdoor fitness classes have also returned, featuring tai chi, Jungle Body and yoga at Rockingham Foreshore.

With so many exciting activities in store, there is something to suit everyone, and City of Rockingham Mayor, Deb Hamblin, encouraged community members to get involved this summer.

"The City's Summer Series provides an opportunity for the Rockingham community to get out and about this summer season, to connect with each other and engage in fun, outdoor activities at the City's foreshores, parks and reserves," Mayor Hamblin said.

As the Summer Series is a family-friendly initiative, visitors to these events are encouraged not to smoke, vape or drink alcohol.
