ETIAS Fundamental Rights Guidance Board holds elections

On 14 November, members Board re-elected Sebastian Hümmeler, representative of the European Data Protection Board, as the Chairperson for the next term. They also elected a new Deputy Chairperson - Anita Danka, Senior Fundamental Rights Monitor at the Frontex independent Fundamental Rights Office.

The term of office of the Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson is two years with possible re-election.

The Guidance Board has an advisory function. In its work it has mainly focused on the implementation of the fundamental rights safeguards in the ETIAS Regulation.
