Minister Tajani in Croatia to participate in the Dubrovnik Forum

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, will be on a mission to Croatia today and tomorrow (28-29 June) to take part in the 17th Dubrovnik Forum, an important international event organised by the Croatian government to delve into the main issues at the centre of the international and European political agenda.

The Deputy Prime Minister will speak tomorrow morning at the session entitled "North-South, East-West: In Search of Safe Passages", dedicated to the discussion and analysis of the main challenges and threats that have emerged at the global level and how the West can cope with them.

Minister Tajani said: "The Adriatic and the Balkans are strategic priorities for Italy: this government has relaunched our presence in the region and brought these issues back to the centre of the European and international agenda, including as G7 Presidency." He added: "We will continue to work for growth, and for the European reunification of the Balkans even in the new European legislature. The future of the region can only be within Europe". The strengthening of the economic partnership and the presence of our companies in the region are central.

The high-level meetings in Dubrovnik will be an opportunity to reaffirm the Italian position in support of Ukraine for a just peace, and the Italian role as leader in the reconstruction process.
